What you will do:
- Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers; advise on shipment details and provide quotations.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments by arranging, booking, confirming, and tracking space across all modes of transportation.
- Coordination tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Drayage/Transportation
- Warehousing
- Repackaging
- Transloading
- Handling/Maintenance of leased equipment (storage tanks/railcars, etc.)
- Complete documentation for receipt of shipments and review documentation to correctly process sales orders while maintaining a constant line of communication with customers.
- Process documents through the appropriate system in a timely manner to ensure compliance with established deadlines.
- Secure necessary documentation when incomplete information is provided.
- Trace key transaction information (HBL, commercial invoice, and other required documents) to determine if available. Create and maintain electronic files to ensure clearance process, once documents are received.
- Follow-up with carriers, manage pre-alerts daily, and maintain record of all communications in electronic files.
- Manage and maintain inventory for assigned product group including constant physical (warehouse reports) and system monitoring, SAP transfers and month end adjustment and report.
- Investigating root cause, preventive action
- Gathering and structuring information
- Providing all necessary information to Logistics Procurement Specialist
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree: a focus in logistics or supply chain preferred
- 2-4 years’ experience in supply chain or logistics is preferred, especially in bulk commodities by rail/truck/ISO Container
- Prior hands-on negotiation of service rates and sourcing of quality vendors preferred
- Experience tendering multi-lane requests for proposal (RFP) or carrier consolidation projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, self-motivated, and self-starter
- Must be a team player with strong team-building skills
- Great organizational skills and detail oriented
- Ability to manage multiple functions at one time in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders a plus
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, highly proficient in MS Excel
- Experience working in TMS and ERP systems
- Capability to build dashboards in MS Power
BI a plus - Judgment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
