CDL A Driver

Job Summary

Performance Food Group is hiring CDL‑A truck drivers to deliver food across the region. The job is full‑time with a Monday‑Friday schedule, typically driving from home each day.

Base Pay Range: $70,000 - $75,000 per year.

Drivers transport food and food‑service products safely and on schedule, serving as the face of the company by building strong customer relationships.

• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
• Perform all required safety checks and inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Report safety issues and repair needs promptly.
• Safely drive tractor‑trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, OTR, shuttle, overnight, and drive‑and‑drop assignments.
• Unload and load freight, verify weight restrictions, and secure trucks.
• Complete accurate freight paperwork and logs in federal and company systems.
• Verify deliveries with customers and obtain signatures.
• Handle cash or check collections when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of trailers and loading dock areas.
• Assist with general housekeeping duties.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of commercial driving experience.
• Valid CDL‑A license.
• Meeting all state licensing and certification requirements.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past 3 years.
• Successfully pass a post‑offer drug test and criminal background check.
• Successfully pass a road test.
• Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
• Physical ability to lift and use equipment to move freight ranging from 10–35 pounds up to 60–90 pounds.
