Public Relations Intern

Job Description

As the Public Relations Intern, you will be an extension of the PR team and an integral component to the team’s daily tasks and operations. The person in this role will participate in the planning of strategic communications efforts to ensure Atlantic Health is effectively and persuasively sharing impactful stories and important health information with patients and consumers. The intern will also be working closely with cross‑functional teams to determine PR needs and support.

The intern will gain visibility into the inner workings and aspects of the public relations field, provide concrete deliverables and learn from top to bottom.

The intern’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in drafting materials including awards submissions, press releases, Q&A’s with experts and more
• Conducting research on relevant or breaking news within the healthcare industry
• Assist with media clips and monitoring coverage
• Aid in planning and/or attending events
• Build and update media lists and databases

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a full‑time accredited public or private college/university pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism and/or Media
• Be in good academic standing
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident
• Must be committed to completing the duration of the internship from June 2026 – August 2026
• Work 37.5 hours per week and commit to a minimum of 375 hours for the duration of the internship
• Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong ability to multi‑task
• Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with senior executives and internal stakeholders
• Good research and analytical skills
• Knowledge of copywriting and editing
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Must be a self‑starter
