OverviewMorristown‑Hamblen Healthcare System is a 170‑bed hospital serving an eight‑county region in East Tennessee’s Lakeway Area. The facility includes more than 20 emergency suites, advanced laboratories, radiology and therapy services, and a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence for mammograms, biopsies and nurse navigation. The Women’s Center features six modern labor and delivery suites and a secure nursery for newborn care. A registered nurse who directs and coordinates administrative activities on a specified tour of duty; referring patient‑care problems to appropriate nursing staff member and/or non‑nursing problems to the appropriate department head.

Responsibilities- Reviews staffing each shift for each unit.
- Assists charge nurse to assure adequate staffing when there is a problem.
- Makes rounds and provides managerial presence.
- Assists new personnel and acts as a resource to the nursing staff.
- Assists with procedures when staff has difficulty.
- Acts as advocate to find resources such as supplies as needed.
- Listens to staff problems and effectively resolves conflict as necessary.
- Responds to safety codes when necessary.
- Provides information to nurse managers regarding quality and employee problems.
- Resolves patient/family complaints when necessary.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards; completes required education assignments annually; works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum ExperienceThree (3) years of clinical experience and experience in the teaching of nursing is desired.
Licensure RequirementCurrent Tennessee RN license. CPR required.
