Overview
Atlantic Health/Morristown Medical Center is seeking a full-time LPN to work caring for primarily cardiac patients in a fast-paced same day procedure, extended recovery and observation status unit.
Responsibilities- Responsible for planning and managing patient care according to each individual's needs. Interviews patients and records medical history and physical conditions like blood pressure or temperature while obtaining vital signs.
- Provides basic medical and nursing care, ensures the comfort of patients by helping them bathe or dress, discusses health care with patients, and reports status of patients to registered nurses and doctors.
- Records patient's vital signs such as respiration, temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate, and enters the data related to the record of patients in computer systems.
- Interviews patients and examines their medical history.
- Assists registered nurses and other superior nurses to develop best care plan for the patients and talks to the patients and their families about their treatment plan, tests, and diagnoses.
- Starts, monitors or discontinues intravenous catheters or intravenous fluids.
- Aids in phlebotomy – analyzes patients, looks over the requisition form for requested tests, and sets equipment, patient and puncture sites.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- New Jersey LPN License Required.
- Minimum 2 years of hospital-based experience as an LPN.
- Experience working in relevant area preferred.
