Overview

Job Description – Follows standard pharmacy support duties in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include filling floor stock for all units and departments, picking up and delivering floor stock (including stat deliveries), and performing hourly pickups and deliveries.

• Fills floor stock for all units and departments in the hospital. Picks up and delivers all floor stock, including stat deliveries. Performs hourly pickups and deliveries.
• Fills emergency boxes and crash cart trays; replenishes anesthesia trans when assigned.
• Fills medical labels for new orders and missing doses. Restocks work area and supplies delivered on off shifts.
• Sorts and returns medications to shelves and/or refrigerator.
• Checks expiration dates when dispensing medications to pharmacists. Completes monthly inspections for expired medications.
• Answers and triages phone calls; handles issues within the scope of the job. Credits medications when time allows.
• Transfers medication carts to nursing units.
• Assists the pharmacists as needed and within the scope of the job function.
• Attends staff meetings regularly. Participates in performance improvement initiatives within the department.
• Supports departmental goals as a team member by assisting staff, remaining flexible, and complying with coverage guidelines. Supports Atlantic Health strategic goals and cross-campus communications.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred
• PTCB or NHA certification active or to be acquired within 6 months of hire
• Current active registration with the State of NJ Board of Pharmacy required
