• Patient triage (weight, blood pressure, temperature readings, updating medication list and documenting chief complaint).
• Electronic patient prescription services, including communication with pharmacies and verification of all medical prescriptions.
• Keen knowledge of EMR.
• Phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Pre-certification requirements for all procedures.
• Contact patients regarding lab results.
• Maintaining daily logs.
• Answering questions regarding patient appointments and testing.
• Communicating with patients regarding patient information and education about procedure preparations.
• Scheduling procedures, surgeries and certain medical tests and referral appointments, coordinating and rescheduling as necessary.
• Scheduling appointments, verifying demographics and insurance information in the patient medical record.
• Assists other staff as directed.
• Other job functions as directed.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, protocols, medication names and prescribing.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
• Knowledge of medical chart reporting and records.
• In-person regular and punctual attendance.
• Attends meetings as required.

Orthopedic surgeon office experience preferred.

• High School Diploma
• Medical Assistant Training
• Completion of accredited LPN program

• Current CPR Certification
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Certification
• State LPN licensure

• May require lifting up to 50 pounds.
