We’re seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Reinsurance Accounting to join our growing specialty Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance organization. This highly visible leadership role will oversee all reinsurance accounting functions and ensure accuracy, compliance, and excellence across both ceded and assumed reinsurance portfolios.

• Lead end‑to‑end reinsurance accounting operations including ceded, assumed, and retrocession activities for a diverse P&C portfolio.
• Oversee accurate and timely preparation of statutory (SAP) and regulatory reports
  , ensuring full compliance with NAIC and state insurance requirements.
• Collaborate closely with actuarial, underwriting, claims, and finance to validate data, support pricing insights, and ensure alignment across functions.
• Manage quarterly and annual close processes and support internal/external audits.
• Review reinsurance contracts and placements for accounting accuracy and financial impacts.
• Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reporting quality, and internal controls.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing accounting team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
• 7+ years of experience in P&C insurance accounting
  , with strong expertise in reinsurance accounting
  .
• Deep knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP); GAAP experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of P&C reinsurance structures, schedules, contract terms, and financial implications.
