Job SummaryThe Manager of Construction Site Coordination leads the field presence of Project Management for high‑voltage distribution and transmission construction. This role oversees a team of supervisors and individual contributors responsible for coordinating daily field execution with onsite labor resources. The Manager ensures construction strategies are executed safely and effectively to meet expectations for safety, scope, quality, budget, and schedule, while maintaining compliance with utility standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Drive consistent execution across multiple sites, crews, and contractors through standard work practices and structured field routines.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and workforce planning for assigned projects.
- Partner with onsite labor resources (company crews and/or contractors) to execute the construction strategy and resolve field constraints.
- Ensure jobsite readiness (permits, materials, access, equipment, work packages, inspections, outage clearances) prior to mobilization.
- Anticipate and remove barriers to productivity (constructability issues, material constraints, schedule conflicts, weather impacts, access limitations).
- Maintain strong alignment with Project Management on progress, risks, and required corrective actions.
- Lead after‑action‑review sessions with appropriate stakeholders and generate lessons learned improvement initiatives.
- Participate in task planning sessions with the team to ensure proper procedures and outcomes are being achieved.
- Champion a leading‑with‑safety, high‑energy exposure control culture through visible field leadership, safety engagement, and enforcement standards.
- Coordinate with Safety and Operations/Outage Management to ensure safe work execution, clearances, and switching plans.
- Ensure work is installed per approved drawings, specifications, utility standards, and construction work packages.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, punch lists, and turnover documentation; verify closeout completeness and readiness for energization/commissioning.
- Drive quality observations and corrective actions; prevent rework by improving planning, communication, and field verification.
- Participate in and drive expectations related to task planning. Monitor daily/weekly progress against plan; validate productivity and identify variance drivers.
- Collaborate with Project Controls/Schedulers to maintain realistic, executable schedules and recovery plans when needed.
- Ensure consistent use of field documentation and controls, including project logs, material tracking, RFI support and as‑built/redlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business with 7 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, candidates with 10 years of relevant experience will be considered. A PE License and previous Leadership, Substation, or Line construction experience are preferred (or other relevant industrial/commercial construction experience).
- Relevant experience includes extensive knowledge of project and construction management concepts and processes.
