AM Shift: 7 am - 7 pm, 3 x 12 Hour shifts

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Surgical Unit is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care with a compassionate approach. The RN will apply assessment skills and clinical knowledge across patient populations from pediatric to geriatric levels, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments.
• Deliver competent clinical nursing care and support patient care delivery.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient care processes and education.
• Exhibit professionalism by adhering to policies, procedures and identifying growth opportunities.
• Ensure patient safety by following national safety protocols and universal guidelines.
• Individualize care based on patient's conditions and procedural needs.
• Contribute to the surgical team by prioritizing patient care and addressing changes in conditions.
• Involve patients and families in education regarding surgical processes and recovery.
• Evaluate and support the completion of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of experience in Critical Care/Cardiac or Emergency Department.
• Current RN License required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required (PALS for Pediatric ER only).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
