Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with ICU background for a Stepdown Unit night shift assignment requiring a NJ or compact license.

• Position is based in a hospital Stepdown Unit (SDU) environment
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Minimum assignment length of 13 weeks
• Patients span pediatric through geriatric age groups
• EPIC charting system is used
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Provide specialized nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care
• Responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments and maintaining accurate documentation
• Work collaboratively with the care team to deliver individualized patient care
• Requires knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
• Must consistently follow National Patient Safety Goals and demonstrate professionalism
• Travelers may stay on assignment for up to one calendar year before a mandatory 30-60 day break is required
• Scrubs or dress code requirements will be provided during onboarding

• Active NJ or compact state RN license required
• At least 1 year of ICU experience is required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing;
  Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Strong assessment and clinical skills necessary for a stepdown/ICU environment
• Must live a minimum of 50 miles from the facility—local candidates will not be considered
