The Pediatric Emergency Department RN is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in emergency situations. The RN performs thorough assessments and delivers patient care appropriately across the continuum from pediatric to geriatric.
Responsibilities- Assess patients’ growth and development stages to deliver appropriate care.
- Demonstrate competent clinical skills and provide direct patient care activities.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient assessments and progress.
- Exhibit professionalism by following policies and identifying areas for growth.
- Foster patient and family satisfaction through courteous interactions.
- Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and safe transfer techniques.
- Display knowledge of surgical conditions and provide individualized patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding surgical procedures and instructions.
- Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate Pre Admission Testing orders.
- 1 year experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department.
- BLS Certification - Required.
- RN License - Required.
- ACLS Certification - Required.
- PALS Certification - Required for Pediatric ER.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing;
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
