Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department travel assignment requiring an active NJ or compact RN license and prior critical care, cardiac, or ED experience.

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
• Care for a diverse patient population from pediatric to geriatric
• Schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts from 7p to 7a, three days a week
• Use of EPIC charting system
• Travelers may be required to float to a nearby sister hospital
• Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care using systematic assessments and direct patient interventions
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation in accordance with professional and facility standards
• Promote patient safety by following National Patient Safety Goals and employing universal protocols
• Provide patient and family education related to emergency procedures and ongoing care needs
• Adhere to professional practice standards and contribute positively to patient satisfaction
• Observe dress code as specified by the facility
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one year before requiring a 30-60 day break before returning

• Active NJ or compact RN license required prior to consideration
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department settings
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification required for those working in the pediatric ER
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing;
  Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred
