Sompo has a unique opportunity for a VP, Product Line Manager, Commercial Property to support our North America Product Development team.

As a VP, Product Line Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing and developing Commercial Property insurance products for our North America Insurance division. You'll play a pivotal role in implementing strategies for rate levels and contribute to the creation of underwriting guidelines and tools to ensure the delivery of a compliant product.

What you’ll be doing :

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of commercial property products, focusing on the analysis and integration of essential forms, loss costs, rules, and other related regulatory items
  • Lead the creation of insurance products to drive our growth and expansion initiatives
  • Implement impactful underwriting guidelines and resources that will enhance company compliance, uphold underwriting excellence, and boost profitability
  • Partner with internal teams from underwriting, legal, claims, state filing, and actuarial to create coverage language and rating strategies
  • Conduct thorough underwriting audits, ensuring all company and regulatory standards are met
  • Lead the implementation of audit recommendations, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and success


What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in underwriting commercial lines, including Property, Marine, Builders' Risk, or other specialty lines
  • Skilled in commercial property product line management or underwriting, including ISO products, manuscripts, underwriting audits, and admitted business
  • Understanding of state filing process and experience in handling large accounts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams
  • Technical capabilities including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe/Nitro, and Share Point
  • Undergraduate degree or industry designations preferred but not required
Salary Range: $170,000 – $220,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
