Job Description

• Performs comprehensive ultrasound exams, following established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report appropriate examinations. Verifies identity, informs and observes patient during procedure to ensure patient education, cooperation, and safety. Assists in continuing quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Completes clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, records all testing information accurately, completely, and in a timely manner, and ensures that critical results are reported promptly and accurately following established policy while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicates with physicians, patients, and other center personnel in a pleasant and informative manner, making recommendations to supervisors on related duties, policies, and procedures.
• Enhances an environment of teamwork by demonstrating motivation, enthusiasm, personal accountability, and a willingness to seek assistance or guidance when appropriate. Seeks to mentor and develop others.
• Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner, cleans patient areas after each use, assists in maintaining a clean and orderly environment in the lab, and takes responsibility for lab opening and closing procedures when appropriate. Cleans and maintains all equipment according to Hospital Infection Control policies and procedures.
• Identifies own learning needs and responds to department needs, attending in‑services, lab and departmental meetings, and striving to increase proficiency in testing and other lab procedures. Suggests new, efficient, or economical techniques, procedures, and processes.
• Echo Sonographer II – Requires skills of Sonographer Level 1+ Strain & P‑Well, Basic 3D, Stress Echo.
• Vascular Technician II – Performs 1+ Venous Insufficiency and/or Arterial Duplex and/or vein mapping with or without radial access.
• Assist with IAC ASE Member, attend Echo Conference, serve as Preceptor, complete CVT PACT, and support SVU member activities.
• Consistently takes initiative to develop professionally, maintains a positive attitude, and demonstrates high‑reliability organization culture by identifying patient safety issues.

• Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication, and basic computer proficiency.
• Registered Sonographer and Vascular Technician II qualifications (RVT/RVS).
