Patient Care Technician I, Per Diem, Days, AMG Surgery and Oncology, Morristown Medical Center

Principal Accountabilities:

• Assist patients with obtaining and recording vital signs, weights and heights
• Assist patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, accommodations as needed
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring as needed
• Take patient histories, prepare examination rooms, and assist with minor medical procedures such as wound care, vaccinations, and blood draws as needed
• Observe and report changes in patients’ condition to the RN
• Prepare examination rooms as needed
• Document patient information and data, including vital signs, weight, height, blood pressure, and temperature
• Prepare, organize, and efficiently utilize supplies and equipment
• Willing and able to work with the diverse group of patients with unique healthcare needs; attentive to detail and excellent communication skills
• Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory and perform all other duties as assigned

• Monday-Friday
• 8:30am-4:30am

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS preferred upon hire; required within 3 months of hire.

Preferred:

• Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the Care Center.
• Completion of Healthcare Provider Course within six months preferred.
• CCMA in PCT program related preferred.
• 6 months prior healthcare experience with patient care experience preferred.
