Environmental Aide - PT; MMC

Job Description

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Part‑Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Morristown Medical Center. Required hours are 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, including every other weekend. Starting rate $18.50 per hour.

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment to clean all nursing units, patients' rooms, and all other designated facility areas, including floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, and furniture.
• Follows the department's policies and procedures for cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Clears and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparation and handling of bio‑hazard materials.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to bend, push, pull, and lift 50 lbs.

• Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
