Vascular Ultrasound Tech II Per Diem

Job Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive ultrasound exams, following established protocols to verify, plan, set up, perform, and report examinations. Verify patient identity, provide education, and observe patients during procedures to ensure safety and cooperation. Assist in quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Complete clerical tasks associated with ultrasound tests, recording all information accurately and promptly. Report critical results quickly in accordance with policy and maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, and other center personnel. Maintain a pleasant and informative manner, and make recommendations to supervisors on duties, policies, and procedures.
• Enhance teamwork by demonstrating motivation, enthusiasm, acceptance of responsibility, and personal accountability. Engage in problem‑solving, seek guidance when appropriate, and mentor and develop colleagues.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, cleaning patient areas after each use and ensuring equipment maintained per infection control policies. Notify supervisors of stocking needs or equipment problems, and take responsibility for lab opening and closing procedures when appropriate.
• Identify own learning needs and respond to department needs by attending in‑services, lab and departmental meetings. Suggest new, more efficient or economical techniques, procedures, and processes.

• Registry through CCI or ARDMS.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; basic computer proficiency.
• Echo Sonographer II qualifications: registered sonographer with experience in Strain & Pedoff, Basic 3D, and Stress Echo.
• Vascular Tech II qualifications: RVT or RVS with competence in venous insufficiency and/or arterial duplex and/or vein mapping.
