Nuclear Medicine Technologist-Morristown Medical Center-Per Diem

Job Description

Responsible for preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of equipment while following prescribed procedures

Principal Accountabilities:

• Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses, under the direction of a physician.
• Calibrates equipment.
• Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by a physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce an image of an organ on photographic film.
• Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
• Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of a physician.
• Follows radiation safety techniques in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Required:
  
  HS Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Current license with the NJDEP in nuclear medicine
• Registration or certification by ARRT, NMTCB, or CAMRT

Relevant

Experience:

• 1+ years preferred
• Employment history of working in an office-based setting is preferred
