Sompo invites you to join our Global Pricing team as a Global Short‑Tailed Pricing Actuary. This role is integral to developing a globally consistent property pricing model that supports our short‑tailed underwriting units across multiple regions.

• Work directly with short‑tailed underwriting units to build a future‑state property pricing model featuring predictive modeling, integrated data pipelines and connected third‑party data sources.
• Establish consistent, comparable technical pricing across Sompo’s short‑tailed global business.
• Lead the evolution of a global property analytical ecosystem by developing methodology, standards and tools to tier renewals, manage capacity, allocate capital, and handle reinsurance costs.
• Collaborate with underwriting and pricing leadership to curate a high‑quality portfolio.
• Develop and maintain performance monitoring reports providing insight and management information.
• Support reinsurance strategy development and create compelling reinsurance submissions.
• Coordinate the annual planning process across property business units and technical staff to ensure global consistency.
• Leverage technology to build data assets that enhance our analytic capabilities.

• 5‑7 years of GI pricing experience, preferably with a short‑tailed line of business.
• Exposure to capital modeling is advantageous but not essential.
• Proficient in coding languages such as R, Python and SQL.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse audiences.
• Solid knowledge of pricing and portfolio management techniques.
• Highly organized, self‑motivated and able to prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
• Excellent technical and analytical skills with sound actuarial judgment and commercial awareness.

Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000. Actual compensation depends on location, qualifications, skills and experience. Compensation includes base salary and incentive awards tied to company and individual performance.
