Delbarton School Alumni Teacher Fellows Program Description

Position

Description:

The Delbarton School Alumni Teacher Fellows Program is a one year opportunity open to Delbarton alumni currently in their senior year of college. The term of the Fellowship is from August to June of their first post-graduate year. The Program is intended to give alumni considering a career in education an opportunity to experience life in a Catholic secondary school environment.

It is also designed to provide a gap year for alumni embarking on a post-graduate degree program or career. Up to three Fellows will be selected annually.

For information on past Fellows' experiences, please , here and here.

Each year, Fellows will be responsible for managing the Delbarton Alumni Mentor Program, an after-school program open to all students that offers time management, organizational, and test preparation skills. During these sessions, Fellows will serve as young adult mentors working closely with our students to help plan schedules and assist with course concerns. To integrate the alumni mentors back into the Delbarton community, each mentor also will assist in a co-curricular activity or sport and shadow a faculty member during the academic year.

The Administration will match each mentor's experiences and interests with a co-curricular that best serves him and our community. Alumni mentor team diversity is important, so it is vital that our Fellows offer a variety of skill sets, passions, and expertise to the school.

Each year, Delbarton School will advertise the Teacher Fellowship Program to Delbarton alumni currently in their senior year of college. For example, for the  academic year, Delbarton School would share news of the Program opportunity with members of Delbarton Class of 2022 and other alumni graduating college in 2026.
