Animal Care Hospital of Morris

Animal Care Hospital of Morris, a 3‑DVM, AAHA‑accredited practice serving Morris and Grundy County, IL, is looking to add an Urgent Care Veterinarian to our growing team. Our mission is to provide compassionate, high‑quality care for pets and peace of mind for their families.

This position focuses on urgent care cases for our established client base, allowing you to practice efficient, high‑quality medicine without the pressures of a full emergency setting. We pride ourselves on low‑stress handling techniques and fear‑free practices, creating a calm and positive environment for pets and people alike. Our newly constructed dental suite, standalone surgical suite, and access to advanced training in ultrasound and dentistry mean you will have all the tools you need to thrive.

Our ideal candidate has a strong foundation in general medicine and surgery, with at least one to two years of experience, and feels confident managing urgent care cases. Essential Responsibilities
  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
