A substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction, managing the classroom environment, and promoting student learning in the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhering to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher/campus supervisor
- Following campus procedures and protocols
- Overseeing students outside of the classroom, including hallways and the cafeteria
- Takes precautions to ensure staff/student safety
- Does not leave students unsupervised
- Taking attendance and documenting daily notes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Dependable
- Must be detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal direction
- Ability to effectively manage time and responsibilities
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to students, parents and staff
- Genuine care for students
- Ability to be professional in appearance, attitude and demeanor
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, lifting (up to 30lbs)
- Regular contact with other staff members and building administrators
- Vocal communication to students
- Visual acuity is required for preparing /assisting with work and observing students as well as general surroundings
$130, Certified (will need to provide active teaching license)
