Nurse Manager, Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center
Join WVU Medicine as a Nurse Manager at Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. This role manages, coordinates, and evaluates all elements of financial, material, and human resources in the provision of nursing care to assigned groups of patients in accordance with the service and missions of the institution.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
- Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Registered Professional Nurses, or appropriate state board where services will be provided, or current multi‑state licensure through the eNLC.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
- Specialty certification desirable.
- Four (4) years nursing experience with at least two years in management.
- Advises the Director on the hiring, retention, interviewing, and recruitment of staff.
- Initiates and maintains appropriate personnel records.
- Assists in the development and implementation of ongoing educational programs for professional and support staff.
- Provides ongoing feedback to employees concerning job performance through goal development, peer evaluation, and performance evaluations.
- Monitors personnel and budget; provides information and justification of variances to the Director.
- Assures cost‑effective utilization of time, materials, and resources.
- Communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and other personnel in timely problem identification and resolution.
- Promotes customer satisfaction and responsive unit culture.
- Serves as a resource to QI teams.
- Participates in staff meetings, in‑services, and other activities to disseminate necessary information.
- Monitors expense and human resource funds for cost center; spends funds congruent with budget.
- Maintains effective communication with medical staff, patients, and other departments.
- Assesses patient/family satisfaction; resolves issues.
- Ensures adherence to all standards and policies.
- Facilitates professional development of personnel and oversees training.
- Plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates delivery of nursing care.
- Participates in outreach activities in the community.
