Reporting to the Land Manager, the Landman will support land operations by researching ownership, securing lease agreements, and performing due diligence to support drilling and development activities. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong grasp of land and title work, looking to deepen their expertise and grow within the land department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research public records and title documents to verify ownership of mineral and surface rights.
  • Assist in preparing, negotiating, and acquiring oil and gas leases and related agreements.
  • Support title examination and coordinate with title attorneys to resolve defects.
  • Track and maintain lease records, obligations, and critical dates to ensure compliance.
  • Provide support in due diligence and acquisition efforts for new properties or assets.
  • Serve as a point of contact with landowners and represent the company professionally in all dealings.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, drilling, operations, etc.) to ensure alignment on land matters.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal use related to leasing status, obligations, and land positions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management, Petroleum Land Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience as a Landman in the oil and gas industry.
  • Solid understanding of lease negotiation, title research, and land records.
  • Familiarity with land management software (e.g., iLandMan, Quorum) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive landowner relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to field offices and county courthouses.
