Overview
The West Virginia Public Education Collaborative at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Temporary, Part-Time K-12 Speakers Bureau Coordinator.
About the OpportunityThe West Virginia K-12 Speakers Bureau is a free program that connects schools with professionals across the state to expose students to career opportunities in West Virginia. The coordinator will be responsible for supporting the implementation of this program.
What You'll Do- Recruit speakers based on the needs of schools and the workforce.
- Manage online database of diverse speakers.
- Make connections with local schools and encourage participation.
- Develop materials for speakers, teachers, and students.
- Collect data from students, teachers, and speakers to evaluate the effectiveness of the Speakers Bureau.
- Support marketing and communication efforts related to the program, including:
- Newsletter
- Social media
- Printed materials
- Manage Regional Leads
- Meet once every other week.
- Work with regional leads to host at least one major event in each region that brings together principals, guidance counselors, career and technical educators, and community speakers to promote the program.
Pay Grade: 15 NE
Length of Assignment: 8.5 Months
Work Hours: 20 Hours per Week
Qualifications- Associate degree
- A minimum of two (2) years of related experience
- Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools
- Connections with schools and/or local industries preferred
- Experience with communications and program management preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- Valid driver’s license
