Academic Hepatology Physician

Overview

Academic Hepatology Physician role at WVU Medicine. The position is a full-time academic appointment with ranks available:
Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.

• Practice in Morgantown, WV with outpatient hepatology clinic, general endoscopy, and inpatient gastroenterology/hepatology consult service (approximately 1:8).
• Possibility to participate in a separate hepatology inpatient consult service as the hepatology section grows.
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Contribute to the gastroenterology fellowship program, which currently comprises 12 fellows (4 per year).

• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent; eligible for state medical license.
• Completed accredited internal medicine residency program, gastroenterology fellowship, and transplant hepatology fellowship.
• Board eligible or board certified in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology.
• Board eligibility/certification must be met by time of appointment.

Team of 11 gastroenterology physicians (including 3 hepatologists) and 5 APPs (including 1 full-time hepatology nurse practitioner) within a robust endoscopy program featuring state-of-the-art suites for ERCPs, interventional EUS, and endobariatrics, with strong support from interventional radiology, hepatobiliary surgery, and GI pathology.
