The RoleWe're seeking passionate, experienced English Language Learners Adjunct Instructors to join our award-winning team. You'll teach English to non-native speakers across multiple proficiency levels (Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, and Adult High School), develop engaging lesson plans, and help learners achieve their goals—including gaining work skills, obtaining employment, and building confidence—in a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
What You'll Do- Lead engaging instructional sessions that build English language skills across listening, speaking, reading, and writing
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans tailored to diverse learner needs and proficiency levels based on Adult Basic Education Standards
- Create, assign, and grade assessments that track student progress and inform instruction
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support program excellence
- Participate in program improvements and contribute to ongoing professional development
- Adapt instruction to meet the needs of adult learners with varying backgrounds and learning styles
- Teach Integrated Education Training (IET) courses where students acquire real-world employability skills to advance their careers
- Associate degree or higher(we're willing to train passionate educators without a teaching degree!)
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and language acquisition theory
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments
- Willingness to learn educational software such as Burlington English, IXL, Common Curriculum, and Meeting Owl
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic, growing program
- Commitment to equity and accessibility in education
- Professional demeanor with strong organizational and time management skills
Pay Rates (based on education):
- Associate's degree: $33.00/hour
- Bachelor's Degree: $35.00/hour
- Master's or Higher: $36.00/hour
Class Hours:
- Day Classes:Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Evening Classes:Monday–Thursday, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
