Paragon Mechanical is a well-established, full-service mechanical contractor providing commercial and industrial construction and service to the Bay Area. We're looking for a dedicated Mechanical Project Engineer to join the Mechanical division at our Morgan Hill office
. You'll primarily focus on directly supporting a Project Manager to deliver successful HVAC, Plumbing, and Piping projects while successfully meeting critical schedules for our clients. This includes completing the identified scope of work, maintaining construction/project documents, collaborating with vendors/subcontractors/field personnel, and coordinating with purchasing. This is a full-time position where precision and expertise will directly contribute to the success of our client's projects.
- Manage Project Documents: Create, manage, compile, and communicate all project documents. This includes Architectural Drawings, RFIs, Submittals, Logs, POs, Closeout Docs, etc.
- Perform project-related communication with clients, vendors, purchasing, and other internal team members. This includes proposals, change orders, and change order logs via email, phone, etc.
- Complete Estimates: Conduct precise takeoffs, request quotes (vendors, subs, etc.), and complete estimates for mechanical bids.
- Maintain Project Information: Regularly maintain project information in software systems with updated bid and project information.
- Support Jobsite Personnel: Coordinate with onsite field personnel on all information related to deliveries, design changes, Work Order management, rental equipment, etc.
- Attend client, internal meetings, both in person and online, required for successful project completion. This includes job walks, video conferences, project team meetings, safety meetings, etc.
- Support Safety Compliance: Execute complete safety compliance and documentation, facilitating the safety of all our team members.
- Facilitate communication and respond to general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors while ensuring smooth information flow and strong relationships in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Collaborate with Senior Executives and Project Managers to ensure project completion aligns with project goals, timelines, profitability, and raise issues and solutions to Project Managers.
- Blueprint Proficiency: Possess a foundational understanding of architectural drawings, specifications, and scope sheets.
- Exceptional Attention to Detail:
Demonstrate a meticulous approach to all tasks, ensuring accuracy in every process. - Strong Computer Abilities:
Highly proficient in essential software, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, PDF software, and online Construction Management Software. - Excellent Communication:
Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills, capable of clear and concise interactions with both internal and external stakeholders. - Customer Service & Relationship Building:
Showcase excellent customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships while maintaining project deadlines. - Job Site Awareness:
Knowledge of job site coordination, onsite safety experience, and being alert to job hazards. - Growth Mindset:
Eager to learn, adapt, and continuously improve in a dynamic environment.
- Prior experience with construction documents, takeoffs, and project budgets is required.
- Previous construction industry experience (Mechanical or GC) is highly preferred.
- Jobsite experience is highly preferred.
- Construction Management degree or equivalent experience is highly preferred.
