Starting rate: $16.90 per hour.

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting customers with bakery purchases.
• Cleaning shelving and display cases.
• Cleaning and filling self‑serve displays in front of the store and adjacent to the bakery.
• Working with customers to take special orders.
• Collaborating with the Baker to determine items that need to be baked or decorated.
• Hosing down floors with soap and water to maintain department cleanliness.
• Performing required lifting: up to 25 lbs regularly, up to 45 lbs frequently, and up to 60 lbs occasionally.

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
• Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification.
