The Riverside University Health System - Medical Center (RUHS-MC), Operating Room Department is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager MC/CHC to join our team located in Moreno Valley. Our Perioperative Services team is dedicated to providing safe, individualized surgical care from preoperative preparation through postoperative recovery. We prioritize keeping patients and families informed and engaged throughout their surgical journey, supporting improved outcomes and recovery.
The Assistant Nurse Manager will support the Clinical Director by supervising perioperative staff, and managing daily OR operations.
Job Duties
- Develop, implement and evaluate educational programs for clinical staff.
- Provide ongoing clinical guidance and mentorship to nursing staff.
- Stay current on industry trends and developments in order to integrate new information into educational programs.
- Assess staff competencies and identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct regular in-services and staff development sessions.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures related to patient care and staff development.
- Maintain RN circulating expertise by supporting staff as needed.
- Support the quality of care provided to patients through optimal orientation programs, ongoing evaluation of competence, and support of lifelong learning.
- Serve as a trusted patient advocate by promoting safe and evidence‑based best practices.
- Through direct observation and participation in patient and family care, the Perioperative Services Educator will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate strategies to maintain excellence in patient care.
- Act as a clinical leader, resolving operational issues, promoting a positive work environment, and ensuring the quality and efficiency of surgical care.
- Extensive clinical experience in perioperative/OR settings.
- Leadership experience as a charge nurse or in a similar supervisory role.
- Strong operational knowledge of the perioperative environment.
- A background in implementing and supporting quality improvement (QI) initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage staff and workflows, in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure surgical setting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- A current and valid RN license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.
- A current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- A valid CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification.
9/80, with every other Monday off

6:45 am to 4:15 pm
