The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive hospice nursing care through ongoing patient and family assessments, care planning, and clinical interventions. This role involves developing and evaluating individualized plans of care, administering medications and treatments as prescribed, and delivering palliative and comfort-focused nursing services. The nurse educates and supports patients and families, assists with daily living activities, and promotes comfort and self-sufficiency.
When assigned, the nurse also serves as a case manager, coordinating care and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
