Position Overview:Direct Support Professional (DSP)
As a DSP at Horizon Village, you will work directly with children, youth, adults, and elderly individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your role is essential in helping participants lead independent, fulfilling lives by providing the necessary supports and care.
Responsibilities- Personal Assistance:
Helping with daily tasks such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility. - Community Integration:
Supporting individuals in social, recreational, and leisure activities in the community. - Supervision & Interaction:
Constant supervision and interaction with participants, ensuring safety and well‑being. - Transportation:
Occasionally providing transportation to appointments or activities as coordinated by the Site Supervisor. - Compliance:
Adhering to all agency and state regulations, policies, and guidelines while providing care.
- Experience:
Preferred but not required; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. - Compassion & Patience: A strong desire to work with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Communication:
Ability to effectively communicate with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. - Adaptability:
Flexibility to work weekends, nights, and midnight shifts as needed.

Requires availability for weekends, nights, and midnight shifts.
