Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
? Teaching Personnel is working with welcoming primary schools in Lancaster and Morecambe seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their teams this January.

You’ll provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH challenges
, helping them thrive academically and socially. These roles require a patient, compassionate, and proactive approach
, as well as the ability to adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs.

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 and group interventions for pupils with SEN/SEMH.
  • Support the implementation of EHCPs and IEPs
    .
  • Use strategies such as PECS for communication where needed.
  • Work closely with teachers and the SEN team to create an inclusive environment.
  • Assist with behaviour management and classroom support.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN and/or SEMH needs
    .
  • Knowledge of EHCPs, IEPs
    , and behaviour strategies.
  • Calm, compassionate approach with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Based locally in Lancaster or Morecambe (or able to commute).
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Competitive pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
