Senior Accountant

Our client, a private higher‑education institution, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to support their growing accounting function.

This is a hybrid role, with four days per week on‑site in Moraga, CA.

• Perform detailed account reconciliations and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting standards, including ASC 606 and ASC 842.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes, including preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and related documentation.
• Prepare audit schedules, respond to auditor inquiries, and support the coordination of annual external audits.
• Identify and recommend process improvements for balance sheet reconciliations and related accounting workflows.
• Assist with ad hoc projects and additional duties as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA or CPA‑eligible (150 units).
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, including public accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
