Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Support the day-to-day functions of the Front-end operations and assist the Customer 1 st Manager in reaching sales and profit goals for the department while monitoring quality assurance standards. Accept full responsibility for the operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager, Co-Manager, and Customer 1 st Manager.

- Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
- Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the departments and respond to questions with suggestions.
- Assist with monitoring and control of supply expenses for the department.
- Assist with managing cash control, transfers to/from registers and store safes, and sales cash items and records.
- Manage scheduling of Front-end associates to provide adequate department coverage.
- Implement department action plans to achieve desired results.
- Collaborate with Front-end associates and promote teamwork.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain Key Retailing standards and initiatives at all times.
- Perform effective Prime Time Store Walks for both Fresh and Non-Perishable Departments.
- Maintain in-stock conditions using the Computer Assisted Ordering system and replenish fast-moving items as needed.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of Store Financials including Store Operating Statement, Key Card concepts, Gross Profit, Cost and Retail and basic math.
- Make sound decisions in the store’s best financial interests under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain temperature logs.
- Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repair needs.
- Report safety risks, incidents and illegal activity.
- Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment and manage conflict constructively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information; follow directions and seek assistance as needed.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Management experience
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
- Retail or customer service experience
