A Typical DayThe Modification Underwriting Specialist reviews application documents received from the customer to either clear the condition or request additional missing items. As the Specialist
, you will make the initial determination of a complete application to refer the file to an Underwriter.
- Follow established guidelines to determine if the documentation is sufficient to satisfy underwriting guidelines
- Review should contemplate Fraud and all “red flags” addressed or escalated as appropriate
- Input any required information into the underwriting module accurately and within established time frames
- Revise underwriting conditions to communicate any stipulations to the customer in a clear and concise fashion
- Review Initial Package for Completeness
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
- Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values
- Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
- Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred

CompensationIndividual salary may vary based on multiple factors including specific role, geographic location / market data, and skills and experience as defined below:
- Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
- Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
- Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role
Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
Salary$40,000 - $60,000
