Modifications Underwriter Specialist

Pennymac (NYSE: PFSI) is a specialty financial services firm with a comprehensive mortgage platform and integrated business focused on the production and servicing of U.S. mortgage loans and the management of investments related to the U.S. mortgage market.

The Modification Underwriting Specialist reviews application documents received from the customer to either clear the condition or request additional missing items. As the Specialist
, you will make the initial determination of a complete application to refer the file to an Underwriter.

• Follow established guidelines to determine if the documentation is sufficient to satisfy underwriting guidelines
• Review should contemplate Fraud and all “red flags” addressed or escalated as appropriate
• Input any required information into the underwriting module accurately and within established time frames
• Revise underwriting conditions to communicate any stipulations to the customer in a clear and concise fashion
• Review Initial Package for Completeness
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
• Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values

• Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
• Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred

• Lower in range - Building skills and experience in the role
• Mid-range - Experience and skills align with proficiency in the role
• Higher in range - Experience and skills add value above typical requirements of the role

Some roles may be eligible for performance-based compensation and/or stock-based incentives awarded to employees based on company and individual performance.
