Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all warehouse systems. This includes troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general equipment. The technician will conduct regular inspections, maintain equipment, and ensure all systems are functioning properly to minimize downtime. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, documentation of maintenance activities, and collaboration with external contractors as needed.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems, including air handlers, chillers, refrigeration, rooftop units, and associated controls
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems, including pumps, motors, compressors, ovens, cooling systems and related equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including lighting, panels, outlets, motors, switches, and basic control wiring
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs in a timely manner
- Perform general building maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, carpentry, painting, and minor construction
- Computer skills required to maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment logs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, local codes, and company safety policies
- Support facility improvement projects and equipment installations
- Follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards
- Adhere to company health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all staff members
- Work independently with minimal supervision, efficiently managing time and resources to minimize disruptions to warehouse operations and production
- Performs other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant experience in maintenance, with expertise in machinery, HVAC, plumbing, and compressed air systems
- Community college or trade school certification (preferred)
- HVAC experience (preferred)
- Experience using hand tools, electrical tools, and machinery
- Proficient in operating sit-down forklifts
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge and experience with control systems (e.g., VFD's, PLC's)
- Excellent customer service skills with an approachable and professional demeanor
- Flexibility and responsiveness, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism and high standards
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and work in various physical conditions
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident in compliance with ITAR regulations.
