Position OverviewThe Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader ensures the team has a clear understanding of goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives and guest connections during the shift.
Core Responsibilities- Demonstrates mastery of the DOING of Team Member with enthusiasm and excellence
- Lead shifts that focus on team engagement and guest satisfaction with a commitment to Make Fun Happen
- Strategically maximize product sales and manage waste
- Demonstrates “total store vision” and takes ownership of the look and feel of the store
- Knowledgeable about the deployment for the day, and the roles and responsibilities
- Communicates effectively on the floor during the shift
- Identifies needs of the team and guests and addresses them before they become problems
- Understands multiple shift priorities and communicates and delegates objectives and tasks
- Takes ownership for the current shift and the subsequent shift
- Ensures the team executes SOP and quality standards consistently
- Coaches and provides feedback to Team Members to ensure they bring their best DOING and BEING
- Trains team on role responsibilities, product knowledge and promotions
- Performs administrative tasks with integrity and to completion (e.g., bank deposits, inventory, store product orders)
- Develops Team Members and discusses career and professional growth

Required:
- At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail or customer service experience required, or properly trained and approved by Caribou Coffee to take responsibility as a Shift Leader
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
The physical requirements for this position include hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for 4 to 8 hours. Ability to fulfill these requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
