Electro-Mechanical Technician

Overview

Located in Mooresville, NC – 111 Excellence Lane – off Penske Way, Magnera is looking for a highly skilled experienced Maintenance Technician to join the team. As part of a predictive and preventive maintenance plan, this individual oversees and troubleshoots machinery issues and monitors mechanical and electrical devices.

The right person will impact run-time efficiency (RTE) and total plant uptime.

• Safety
  :
  Have a clear understanding of and strictly comply with LO/TO policy. Serve as a member of the emergency response team, with training in Emergency Response, First Aid/CPR/BBP, and Fire Extinguisher. Review work orders with resources as they are received, ask for clarification, and confer with the requester for additional clarification when needed. Wear appropriate PPE as required.
• Teamwork
  :
  Act as a group leader during preventive maintenance shutdowns. Provide training in operations in maintenance activities associated with Total Productive Maintenance practices. Maintain a team-oriented attitude and familiarize with new equipment; assist in training other technicians. Serve as a resource to Process Engineering and Plant Leadership in resolving customer complaints.
• Skills
  :
  Troubleshoot and repair problems with production equipment and continuously monitor electrical and mechanical devices as part of a predictive and preventive maintenance plan. Perform small installations and equipment modification projects. Document all modifications made to equipment during repairs (e.g., updating schematics, drawings). Read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Proficient in the use of computers and handheld technology.
  
  MAPEX & SAP a plus.

Education
:
Associate degree (A.S.) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school is preferred.

Experience
: 5 years’ experience working as a maintenance technician or equivalent in industrial maintenance.

• The position requires prolonged sitting and frequent bending, stooping, and stretching; manual dexterity; the ability to distinguish letters; occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds; frequent lifting up to 25 pounds. Required to occasionally ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs beside extremely fast-moving machinery. Must safely access fast-moving machinery, including rolls with inward nip points. Ability to work outside normal scheduled hours in a 24/7/365 operation.
