Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

Relate Search has partnered with a leading innovator in the health and wellness manufacturing space in the search for a Plant Controller to lead site-level controllership, financial reporting, and compliance. This role serves as a critical finance partner to plant operations and corporate finance leadership, ensuring financial integrity, strong controls, and actionable insights that support operational decision-making. The Plant Controller will own month-end close, audit readiness, and cost control while also driving process improvement and developing a high-performing controllership team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a CPA who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing technical rigor with operational partnership.

Responsibilities:

• Lead site-level controllership operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Own the month-end close, financial statement preparation, and detailed variance analysis, partnering with operations to translate results into insights.
• Manage external audit activities, including year-end audits, tax filings, and support for R&D tax credit processes.
• Partner with shared services teams (AP/AR) on site-level issues related to purchase orders, billing, and master data management.
• Build, coach, and develop the site controllership team while driving continuous improvement in processes, systems, and controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field; active CPA license required.
• 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 8+ years in people leadership roles.
• Manufacturing industry experience with strong knowledge of standard cost accounting and operational finance.
• Deep expertise in GAAP, financial controls, audit management, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
