Corvid's Launch Systems team is looking to expand our ability to integrate flight termination systems (FTS) into a variety of aerospace systems. The position will lead efforts to ensure Corvid developed systems meet all RCC requirements related to FTS systems. This is a unique opportunity to develop technical solutions using readily available technology as well as developing unique products that improve the overall performance of the FTS.
The candidate will need to bring solid technical understanding of FTS technology as well as understanding the requirements to meet the RCC requirements (performance and documentation). This position will have the opportunity to influence, develop, and ultimately lead the development and integration of FTS solutions for systems ranging from sounding rockets to Hypersonic vehicles.
SomeKey Responsibilities Will Include
- Develop & execute FTS plan for aerospace systems
- Primary POC for WSMR, PMRF and other safety organizations to maintain ensure all Corvid products adhere to RCC guidelines
- Maintain up to date and approved FTS documentation including Concept Documents, Analysis, Tailoring, Procedures, and technical data packages
- Schedule & manage FTS design process - including a resource plan to ensure all work is accomplished to meet launch requirements
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and be eligible to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in a related STEM Discipline and at least 5 years of experience in a related position
- Demonstrated proficiency with RCC regulations and FTS related hardware
- Preferred candidate will have experience leading small technical teams while managing programs that meet technical requirements while adhering to cost and schedule constraints
- Direct experience tailoring RCC 319 with WSMR and/or PMRF test ranges
- Technical background to complete RCC 319 Chapter 7 analysis
- Launch integration experience with Hypersonic, Target, or Sounding Rocket vehicles
- Familiarity with automated flight safety systems, including use of Core Autonomous Safety Software (CASS)
