Your Impact
The primary purpose of the role is to lead the design and development of customer centered Supply Chain (SC) Distribution and Fulfillment Infrastructure solutions through innovative and proven industrial engineering solutions, and direct the continuous improvement of business processes, increase consistency, and reduce risk. The Senior Director oversees infrastructure projects from concept design through implementation of engineering solutions, ensuring that projects meet schedule, budget, and quality measures.
The Senior Director also leads the team of process engineers that execute process improvement projects from identification of drivers for improvement, analysis of root causes of performance gaps, and redesign of end-to-end processes using lean techniques.
This position plays a critical role in supporting SC and all distribution center types in productivity improvements and efficiency through labor standards, process improvement, facility design and layout including new and retro fits. The position is also responsible for defining and implementing new automation, robotics and digital twin capabilities in support of the overall SC Transformation roadmap.
What You Will Do
Own the development and execution of the of the Automation and Efficiency strategies for the entire supply chain.
Work with senior Supply Chain Leaders to provide expertise and align the automation and efficiency strategies to meet the financial goals of the enterprise.
Lead a large team to create productivity in supply chain by focusing on continuous improvement. Utilize lean and process control methods as Supply Chain Center of Excellence in these methods.
Oversee the design and installation of all processes and methods across distribution and fulfillment centers, including RDCs, FDCs, DFCs, BDCs and Import Centers. Leverage Process Engineering to ensure consistent business outcomes through Process Leaders and Engineers. Analyze and develops effective solutions to key operational problems using process control methods.
Direct team in developing business cases for supply chain infrastructure investments, including analysis of capital investments and associated cost savings and other benefits to guide in executive decision making.
Lead design and build of facilities, technology and operational methods. Lead design and launch processes for Lowes operated facilities including planned new RDC and DFCs.
Collaborate with vendors and external service providers to identify and evaluate opportunities for supply chain efficiency and cost reduction. Lead evaluation and selection of third-party logistics (3PL) providers for long term and contingency needs. Spearhead expansion of 3PL networks for growth of BDC network to 20+ locations. Support establishment of 3PL Import and Delivery facilities.
Ensure follow-through on project plans and ensures successful and timely implementation of projects.
Oversee network cost optimization projects across all networks: RDC, FDC, BDC, DFC and Imports.
Lead reliability engineering through maintenance systems, lifecycle optimization for buildings and equipment, and a portfolio of capital and expense projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (Engineering/Supply Chain preferred)
10 years experience in designing supply chain distribution and fulfillment infrastructure strategy and solutions, creative problem solving, process engineering, working cross-functionally with design and manufacturing to achieve cost targets, desired design intent and project deadlines
3 years experience communicating concepts/ ideas verbally and visually through rough sketches, 3D CAD, etc. to stakeholders, managing complex industrial and/or process engineering teams
Preferred Skills/Education
Master's Degree - Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
