- Clinical Care – Provide assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. Work collaboratively with supervising physicians, obtain medical histories, perform exams, review tests, formulate treatment plans, and may perform procedures and prescribe medications within scope.
- Patient Education & Psychosocial Support – Educate patients/families on care and resources; provide psychosocial support through the multidisciplinary team.
- Information Management – Ensure appropriate documentation and protect information from unauthorized access.
- Quality Management – Demonstrate high moral and ethical standards, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Professional Development – Engage in competency‑advancing projects; serve as clinical resource, preceptor, mentor, and collaborate on research and quality improvement initiatives.
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Clinical working experience as an NP/PA in the specialty/service line is preferred but not required.
- APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs must be appointed to the Affiliated Medical Staff of a YNHHS hospital and complete the credentialing process.
- Active PA Certification (NCCPA), Connecticut State Physician Assistant License, ACLS/BLS Certified, and when indicated DEA License.
- Pediatric position profile PALS, and when indicated neonatal care NRP Certification.
- Additional licensure, certifications, or continuing education credits may be required during employment based on position and specialty.
