A Schematics Lead Hand performs the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Includes Service Shops.
As a Schematics Lead Hand, you will be responsible for
- Leading motivating and guiding a team. Maintain high housekeeping standards and accountability.
- Production Management: Organize resources, delegate tasks, manage workflow, and ensure daily/weekly targets are met.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect work, troubleshoot defects, conduct quality checks, and ensure compliance with company/client standards and codes.
- Promote and enforce strict safety protocols, conduct safety checks, and ensure proper use of PPE.
- Technical Expertise: Perform, instruct Orbital welding & CNC bending. Interpret engineering drawings and co‑ordinate shift handovers.

Training & Development:
Identify welder training and coding, mentor junior welders, and support skill development. - Communication & Coordination:
Work closely with welding team and supporting functions to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery. - Admin & Reporting:
Manage time booking, maintain inventory of consumables, monitor Globals, and report on team performance.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- SVQ Level 3 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Ability to work well on your own or in a team
- Be part of a 6S lean environment
- Positive safety and EHS awareness
- Orb-biary Welding
- Experience in CNC Bending
- Have a Permanentnata work permit in UK
