Position: Modern Apprenticeship - Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering  2026

Apprenticeship Programme – GSK UK – Montrose

Help us get ahead of disease together and earn while you learn. GSK Apprenticeships offer an alternative to college courses or university by providing on‑the‑job training alongside classroom learning.

As an apprentice you will work at GSK’s Montrose manufacturing facility, maintaining and improving pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and facilities. You will learn to carry out routine maintenance, fault find and resolve breakdowns, recommend improvements, install and test new equipment, and develop business skills.

Education required:

  • Minimum of five Scottish National 5s at grade A–C (or equivalent).
  • Maths at grade B or above, a Science subject and English at grade C or above.

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English.

Other requirements:

  • Ability to enroll and meet entry requirements if offered a position.
  • Site‑based role: must commute to the Montrose site and attend Forth Valley College / Dundee and Angus College one day a week.

Expected start date: July 2026

Duration: 4 years

What will you do?

  • Learn how to maintain equipment and carry out routine maintenance.
  • Fault find, diagnose and resolve breakdowns.
  • Recommend and act on improvements.
  • Help install and test new equipment.
  • Learn business skills with other apprentices.
  • Complete community projects as part of a team.
  • Work alongside highly trained and motivated people.
  • Be trained on maintaining plant operations at our 47‑acre site.
  • Attend college one day a week to obtain the relevant qualifications for your Apprenticeship.
