Compensation

Starting rate ranges from $20.00 per hour for new locators to $30.00 per hour for those with substantial prior locating experience.

• Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
• Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately marking the location, completing necessary documentation, and photographing each locate.
• Work day‑time, full‑time positions with 48‑hour turnaround, possibly working overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts (including nights) as required.

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Computer proficiency.
• Availability for overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Able to work in a confined space, walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark utilities.
• Strong reading and mapping skills.
• Effective communication with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
