Job Summary
The Golf Course Equipment Manager is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall management of all equipment used in golf course operations as well as small vehicle fleet. This role includes conducting regular inspections, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring all machinery is safe and efficient for daily use. The Equipment Manager will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to coordinate equipment needs meeting the expectations set by the Golf Course Superintendent.
Strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, cleanliness and knowledge of turf management practices are essential for success in this position.

Performs troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment including mowing equipment, tractors, power tools, hand tools, and snow removal equipment. Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment, purchases repair parts and replacement supplies. Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses and inventories for budget. Train all employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery/vehicles. Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Perform other duties as assigned by Golf Course Superintendent.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of equipment including mowing equipment, tractors, power tools, hand tools, golf carts and snow removal equipment.
- Maintains a preventative maintenance program on all equipment, purchases repair parts and replacement supplies.
- Places orders for parts/supplies as needed for equipment or service and tracks expenses and inventories for budget.
- Train all employees in proper operation and maintenance of machinery/vehicles.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Golf Course Superintendent.
- Smile and greet every guest especially when they’re in proximity.
- Provide quick and efficient service.
- Remember guest names and use them often in interactions.
- Offer assistance and provide options to guests.
- Emphasize creating a positive guest experience and building lasting connections by thanking guests and inviting them back.
Required Skillsand Qualifications
- Prior experience as a successful Equipment Manager, Head Mechanic, or Assistant Mechanic in a golf course setting.
- Advanced understanding of golf course maintenance equipment repair and diagnostics, specifically Toro and Kubota, as well as Polaris side by sides.
- Ability to maintain pickup truck fleet. (3 Ford trucks, 2 shuttle vans)
- General understanding of all types of engines, hydraulics, pumps, electronics, etc.
- Ability to weld, fabricate.
- Thorough experience using reel and bed-knife grinders.
- General knowledge using computers, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
