• The San Juan Cancer Center opened its doors on April 3, 2006, providing state‑of‑the‑art cancer care closer to home for residents of a huge seven‑county area in southwestern Colorado. The facility is an unqualified success, exceeding projections for the number of patients seen to date and surpassing the expectations of those who enter its doors for treatment.

• The APP is defined as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP). The role of the APP is to assist in the evaluation and management of patients, with and without physician medical supervision in a fashion that demonstrates administrative and philosophical compatibility with Montrose Regional Health. Within scope of practice, APP will exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  
  The APP may perform hospital rounding per the requirements of the patient census and in support of the physician/provider needs.

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current, or able to obtain, Colorado State License as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner.
• Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioner.
• BLS Certification.
• Active DEA license.
