OPEN POSITIONS:

• Our Railcars Maintenance shop located at 9300 Boulevard Maurice Duplessis in Montreal is looking for individuals for several open positions as Railcar Repairer/ Mechanic positions.
• Railcar Repairer performs all aspects of repair and maintenance in GATX's own railcars as well as foreign cars.
• This role doesn't require experience in Rail or related activities,
• GATX will be providing all necessary training to safely and successfully complete all essential tasks.

• Starting hourly wage for this position: between 24.93$ and 29.92$ plus $1.00 for the afternoon prime. A salary increase applies with the completion of working hours and also on an annual basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

• Uses current GATX repair procedures to dismantle, repair, install and/or renew coil, valves and miscellaneous tank car fittings.
• Undertake minor welding work on railcars (welding training will be provided as required).
• Uses equipment such as chains, slings, hoists and forklifts to perform assigned tasks.
• Keeps work area in a clean and orderly manner.
• Able to work in confined spaces and in heights.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (including certifications):

• At least a High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Welding experience acquired through formal training or prior work experience is a plus, but not required
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as repair manuals, instructions, work orders , ect...
• Ability to work effectively individually and/or in groups.
• Initiative:
  Have a personal motivation and autonomy to determine and carry out important tasks
• Diligence and reliability at work: be able to complete all hours of work, rarely absent and be able to complete all assigned tasks at a reasonable period of time.

QUARTS DE TRAVAIL / WORK HOURS:

• Quart de jour:
  Lundi au Vendredi, 6:00 – 14:30 / Morning Shift: Monday to Friday: 6:00AM - 2:30PM
• Quart de soir :
  Lundi au Jeudi, 14:30 – 1:00 / Afternoon
  
  Shift: Monday to Thursday: 2:30 PM
  -1:00 AM
